MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. -- Solid Information Technology Corp., the leading distributed data management provider, announced today that it has appointed Nalin Advani as Vice President of Field Operations for the Asia Pacific region. Advani has responsibility for a focused sales effort that includes managing the sales, field engineering, and professional services personnel for the Asia Pacific region.

Solid is seeing an increasing interest in its products in the Asian/Pacific market, especially in the network infrastructure, and high-end consumer devices and the infrastructure needed to support them. Advani is expected to expand these market beachheads and carry Solid into major new opportunities. Advani will report to Solid Chief Executive Officer, Jussi Harvela, will participate on the Solid Executive Team and will become a Representative Director of Solid KK, the company’s Japanese subsidiary.

Advani has over ten years experience in selling technology into the Asia/Pacific markets. He was instrumental in introducing off-the-shelf real-time operating systems (RTOS) into the Japanese market. He comes to Solid from Integrated Systems, and prior to that, eSol, where as CMO, he brought open source software to the Japanese market, building relationships with key vendors in the industry. Prior to eSol, Advani held senior management roles at EnThink, Wipro and Wind River.

Wendell Kaiser, Vice President of Americas Field Operations Wendell Kaiser brings to Solid over thirty years experience in selling high tech products and managing sales organizations. During his successful career, Kaiser has worked in both start-up and mature companies. Most recently he was with Xerox, and prior to that, Sun Microsystems, where he carried Sun into major accounts in the U.S. and South America and for some time managed the Silicon Valley region for Sun, its highest revenue region. Prior to Sun, Kaiser managed Central and South American sales for Santa Cruz Operations (SCO) as well as taking responsibility for all major accounts in the Americas. At Stallion Technologies and Altos Computers, Kaiser created and managed sales organizations that consistently over-achieved revenue targets.
