Fujikura/Oki joint venture releases 80km and 40km Gigabit Ethernet SFP transceivers

TOKYO -- Sigma-Links, the joint venture of the large and venerable Fujikura and OKI corporations has released its 80 km and 40 km Gigabit Ethernet Small Form-factor Pluggable (SFP) transceivers. The SFP module has a user friendly dual release system and digital diagnostic monitoring per SFF-8472. Sigma-Links maintains a high quality of product while achieving some of the lowest pricing in the industry. Sigma-Links has extensive test data available on all their modules, and maintain their own complete test center in addition to a dedicated applications lab. The fixed version will be available in 2x5 or 2x10 versions per request. These products add to the strong metro and telcom product line-up including multi-rate OC-48 SONET / STM-16 SDH SFP modules and the soon to be released XFP 10Gbps modules.
