REDWOOD CITY, Calif. -- Nominum, the leader in secure and intelligent DNS solutions, announced today that Virgin Media has selected NavAssist and Vantio NXR for their navigation assistance service. NavAssist is a consumer application that makes it easier for Internet users to navigate the web, while Vantio NXR is a policy software module for Nominum’s industry-leading Vantio Intelligent DNS System. Virgin had previously deployed Nominum’s caching DNS server technology, which they recently upgraded to the Vantio Intelligent DNS System.
Virgin Media has long led the industry by offering innovative new services that improve the Internet experience for their customers. For navigation assistance Virgin Media wanted a tightly integrated solution from a single vendor. Because their customers expect the best from them, they knew their new service had to be engaging and responsible, making it simple for their customers to reach their intended destinations quickly and easily, without ever disrupting any web applications.
“We take our commitment to our customers very seriously – we want to make the digital world the brilliant place it should be,” said John O’Dwyer, Online Applications Manager at Virgin Media. “We chose to work with Nominum on our new service because the NavAssist team demonstrated a deep understanding of how people experience the Internet and how to create an integrated service that is helpful and engaging for them.”
