CHICAGO -- Ubiquity Software [LSE: UBQ.L], creators of the most widely adopted standards-based SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) deployment platform, today announced the release of version 7.0 of its Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) Application Server (SIP A/S). The newest release of the high-performance, carrier-grade platform offers significantly broader capabilities, including support for a new Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) that enables carriers to develop, deploy, and manage innovative converged services that blend voice, video, data and presence.

Ubiquity’s SIP A/S utilizes a new Service-Oriented Object Framework (SOOF), which Ubiquity has packaged as the Appcelerator™ SOOF 1.0 Feature Pack and Developer Kit. The SOOF architecture extends the capabilities of the Application Server to provide a more richly featured, structured and controlled environment for SIP application creation and deployment. SOOF defines a new concept for developing Telecom applications that are strongly aligned with SOA, which eliminates the normal pain of application development and opens new marketplace opportunities for added competitive advantage and profitability.

"The enhanced capabilities of the Ubiquity SIP A/S version 7.0 allows our customers to continue to leverage this proven platform to realize significant competitive advantages in terms of shortening development time, accelerating time-to-market, and delivering carrier-grade services" said John Hart, vice president of product line management for Ubiquity Software. "By incorporating support for our SOOF platform in Appcelerator features, carriers, service providers and enterprises can leverage a robust SOA platform to develop new standards-based applications faster and more efficiently while management and maintenance of applications is dramatically reduced and simplified."
