ANNAPOLIS, Md., and SAN DIEGO -- TeleCommunication Systems, Inc. (TCS) (NASDAQ: TSYS), a leading provider of mission-critical wireless communications, today announced the immediate availability of a fully integrated hosted solution that provides Carriers with multiple location-based applications and the supporting network infrastructure. The comprehensive, hosted solution enables carriers to more easily offer customers the highest revenue-generating location-based services (LBS) available on the market today.

According to a 2009 report from ABI Research, a market intelligence company specializing in global connectivity and emerging technology, TCS is the second largest vendor of LBS infrastructure in the world and is uniquely positioned to capitalize on the growth of carrier LBS infrastructure investments projected to reach $2.2 billion by 2013. As demand for LBS services increases, the hosted location-based solutions provided by TCS can be used by carriers to generate new revenue opportunities while reducing capital expenditure requirements and internal deployment costs. The hosted technology model also more closely matches revenue to expenses.
