SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Sylantro Systems today announced the availability of their Synergy Application Feature Server with support for IMS and a Web Services customization layer. The Synergy platform runs the latest software from Sylantro, Release 4.0, which provides a Web Services interface and significant expansion of capacity, usability and end-user features for Network Service Providers who host Voice over IP (VoIP) services for consumers and businesses. In addition, Sylantro announced that Synergy support for the IMS architecture standard is being deployed in wireless installations.

Web Services, the architecture behind the latest generation of web-based applications, allows hosted web applications to be easily combined to provide new capabilities. The Sylantro Web Services interface, called Synapps, enables both network service providers and their customers to easily voice-enable other web applications. Examples of applications which have been developed include screen pop-ups from and auto-dialing of telephone numbers in Google Local. These applications can be used with the VoIP service of any carrier who uses Sylantro's Synergy platform. To support these new types of applications, Sylantro has created the Synapps Central developer program which provides full documentation, frameworks, example applications and user forums. Membership in Synapps Central is available through Sylantro's web site, and technical training courses are available now.

"The Sylantro Synergy platform, with the Synapps Web-Services framework and IMS support, provides the most advanced capabilities available for network service providers in the wireless, wireline and cable industries," said Pete Bonee, CEO of Sylantro Systems. "The combination of our focus on the application feature server, with our delivery of open interfaces, is being validated as the right architectural choice by the market."
