WORBLAUFEN, Switzerland -- Heinz Herren is to take over as Head of Swisscom's Network & IT Division from 1 January 2011, replacing Guido Garrone, who has decided to return to Italy. At the same time, Roger Wüthrich-Hasenböhler, who currently works in Swisscom's Corporate Customer business, will replace Heinz Herren as Head of the Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises Division. Günter Pfeiffer, Head of Human Resources, is leaving Swisscom.

Guido Garrone (b. 1961), Member of the Group Executive Board and Head of the Network & IT Division, is to return to Italy as originally intended. Swisscom will put Guido Garrone forward for election to the Board of Directors of Fastweb. At Swisscom he promoted the transition to a modern technical platform for Swisscom's communications networks. These future integrated network and service platforms (All-IP) will provide the basis for Swisscom's convergent products. Guido Garrone hails from Milan and was previously responsible for Network, IT and Customer Service at Fastweb. The Board of Directors and the Group Executive Board would like to thank Guido Garrone for his exceptional commitment. Since taking over the Division at the beginning of 2008, he has driven forward infrastructure projects that are vital to the future success of Swisscom, including fibre-optic expansion, rapid further development of broadband technology and the All-IP strategic approach referred to above.
