MOSCOW -- Shyam Telelink Limited (STL) launched their CDMA mobile services in the Rajasthan circle under the brand name ‘Rainbow’. This makes STL the first ‘new entrants’ in the telecom circuit to roll out operations in the country. STL has pan-India CDMA license and spectrum and will be rolling out pan-India operations in a phased manner. STL is a JV between India’s Shyam Group and Russian telecom giant Sistema SSA. STL’s launch in Rajasthan depicts the readiness and seriousness of the company in the telecom space.

The launch event and press conference were addressed by Vladimir Evtushenkov (Chairman, Sistema SSA, Vitaliy Savelyev (Chairman, STL), Rajiv Mehrotra (Promoter, Shyam Group) and Vsevolod Rozanov (President & CEO, STL). Speaking at the launch, Vladimir Evtushenkov, Chairman, Sistema SSA said, “We consider India as one of the most attractive markets with high potential growth. This is in line with our global strategy to enter rapidly developing markets and integrate Sistema SSA into the Global community. Further India and Russia have traditionally shared a great relationship. Thus, our foray in the country is very logical in terms of furthering the relationship between the two countries.”
