Minerva Networks and Nortel announce joint development of an API that enables integration of IPTV services with Minerva's iTVManager software

LAS VEGAS -- TelecomNEXT - Minerva Networks andNortel(x) (NYSE/TSX: NT) today announced the joint development and release ofan Application Interface (API) that enables the integration of real-time IPTVservices with Minerva's iTVManager software. Nortel is using this jointlydeveloped interface as a first step to bring together Minerva's IPTVmiddleware platform with Nortel's IMS solution to make content available tousers anywhere, anytime, on any device.

Using Session Initiation Protocol (SIP), the new API gives developers andservice providers the tools needed to enable real-time applications such asvoice mail access and callback functionality over the television set. Thisinnovative development environment also provides service providers withinvestment protection through support for legacy non-SIP systems includingCaller ID and instant messaging as well as well providing a foundation forfuture IMS services.

"Minerva has over 65 customers around the world who are anxious tointroduce advanced communications services with their IPTV offerings.
