The PSGA-101 is a powerful measurement system that accurately characterizes all polarization-relatedproperties of light waves and optical materials. Based on General Photonics’ patented binary magneto-opticpolarization state generation (PSG) and analysis (PSA) technology, PolaWise™ effortlessly performsmultiple functions, including polarization mode dispersion (PMD), polarization dependent loss (PDL),polarization extinction ratio (PER), state of polarization (SOP), and degree of polarization (DOP)measurements, as well as Mueller Matrix characterization of optical components.

PolaWise™’s powerful, user-friendly graphic interface allows real-time SOP display on a Poincaré sphere,as well as plots of PDL or PMD vs. wavelength, on a large integrated flip-top LCD screen - an industryfirst that provides large viewing area on a compact, portable enclosure. A VGA port also enables the use oflarger, external graphic displays for more detailed viewing. Finally, a front-panel 2x20 character LCDscreen allows quick, simple control and data display for applications that do not require graphics. Thishigh-performance instrument comes complete with an internal tunable laser for PDL and PMDmeasurement, as well as the ability to control third party tunable lasers via a GPIB port. An Ethernet port isprovided for easy PMD measurement of installed fiber. For added convenience, removable USB storagemedia can be used for easy data storage and transfer.
