CAMPBELL, Calif. Market research firm Infonetics Research released excerpts from its new Service Delivery Platform Vendor Scorecard, which profiles, analyzes, and ranks the 5 largest global vendors of service delivery platform (SDP) software: Ericsson, HP, Huawei, OpenCloud, and Oracle.
The 21-page report evaluates vendors entirely on criteria using actual data and metrics, such as direct feedback from service providers, market share data, and publicly available financial data. This approach eliminates subjective scoring and ensures vendors are assessed accurately and fairly.
For a limited time, telecom service providers receive a 50% discount on Infonetics' SDP vendor scorecard. Contact Infonetics for details: www.infonetics.com/contact.asp.
"Based on completely quantitative metrics, including financial information, product capabilities and service provider feedback, we named Ericsson the top vendor in the service delivery platform (SDP) software market, with Oracle following close behind," says Shira Levine, directing analyst for service enablement and subscriber intelligence at Infonetics Research.
Continues Levine: "Ericsson scored particularly well on service and support and product reliability, and Oracle received high ratings on financial stability and solution breadth. Both companies, however, scored below average when it came to pricing."
SERVICE DELIVERY PLATFORM SCORECARD HIGHLIGHTS
#1 Ericsson placed in the top 3 of every criterion except pricing
Key to #2 Oracle's continued success in the SDP software market will be its ability to capitalize on the demand for enterprise applications and services, including machine to machine
Smaller player OpenCloud held its own against the larger competitors in the technology innovation and pricing categories
Service provider feedback resulted in a solid score for Huawei on pricing
Infonetics' 2014 service delivery platform vendor scorecard evaluates the leading SDP software vendors worldwide, as identified as top suppliers by service providers-Ericsson, HP, Huawei, OpenCloud, and Oracle-using criteria that are commonly used by buyers to select vendors, demonstrate success in the marketplace, and position a vendor for success. The matrix rankings are based on 8 criteria including market share, market share momentum, financial stability, solution breadth, and service provider opinions on technology innovation, product reliability, service/support, and pricing. The report answers such questions as: Who is the top scoring vendor overall? Who are the top vendors by criteria (market share, solution breadth, service/support, etc.)? What are each vendor's strengths and weaknesses? To buy the scorecard, contact Infonetics: www.infonetics.com/contact.asp.
