PHILADELPHIA -- Comcast.net, Comcast’s premiere broadband portal, has partnered with RealGames, a division of RealNetworks, Inc. (Nasdaq: RNWK - News) and Bunchball, a marketing technology company, to offer game enthusiasts online entertainment for the whole family on www.comcast.net/games.

Through these partnerships, Comcast.net’s Games Channel provides popular online puzzle, arcade and card games such as Solitaire and Scrabble, and offers Comcast High-Speed Internet customers unique community benefits such as the ability to create player profiles, customize avatars, connect with friends, chat, create-your-own trivia questions and earn game play points to redeem virtual prizes.

Since its initial Beta launch, Comcast.net’s Game Channel has already acquired more than 1.5 million community members, and its gamers generate a combined total of about 22,000 hours a day of game play.

“We are thrilled to partner with RealGames and Bunchball, as they’ll be able to extend their best-in-class services and products to our growing community base,” said Scott Bailey, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Comcast.net for Comcast Interactive Media. “We wanted to create a place where game lovers could socialize and enjoy some light competition and, based on early response, we’re seeing that our Games Channel is resonating with users.”
