MALRBOROUGH, Mass., and MAIDENHEAD, U.K. -- Camiant, Inc., the leading provider of policy control technology, today announced its PCRF (Policy and Charging Rules Function) deployments have surpassed the 185 million-subscriber milestone with its Multimedia Policy Engine (MPE). To date, over 30 operators around the world have selected Camiant’s best of breed policy control solution for dynamic management of internet/broadband networks, supporting a wide range of applications including tiered internet services, fair use management of congested networks, quality of service (QoS) for Voice and Video over IP services, and EU roaming controls. The company reported that since the beginning of 2009, sales have increased 75 percent. Camiant now has over 100 employees throughout North America, Asia and Europe, and expects to see increased demand for its independent solution leading to additional company growth and continued hiring in 2010.

“Within the next few months, for some of the leading operators, data revenues will overtake voice revenues for the first time and gradually the rest of the world will follow suit,” said Chetan Sharma, President, Chetan Sharma Consulting, and author of ‘Managing Growth and Profits in the Yottabyte Era’. “This growth comes at the cost of managing growth of data consumption from billions of devices and trillions of sensors around us. By introducing new business models and technology solutions that includes among other things congestion management, carriers can manage this growth without negative impact on their profits.”
