EDINBURGH -- Calnex Solutions continues to enable operators to deploy Synchronous Ethernet (Sync-E) for mobile backhaul on packet networks. The recent news of Virgin Media deploying a Sync-E enabled network for Mobile Broadband Network Ltd. (MBNL) is a case in point.
Sync-E is a critical technology that allows Mobile Network operators to deploy much-needed bandwidth in their backhaul networks using Ethernet while maintaining the synchronisation required by mobile base-stations. Calnex’s Paragon-X product allows equipment manufacturers and operators to test the compliance of Sync-E performance to international standards.
The MBNL network will carry traffic generated by 35.2 million mobile users of UK mobile operators Everything Everywhere and 3. As such, the operators will need solid confidence in new underlying technologies such as Sync-E. The Calnex Paragon-X was used to validate performance and provide this confidence.
