Anritsu introduces Ethernet OAM software for QOS testing of next-generation networks
September 25, 2008
RICHARDSON, Texas -- Anritsu Company introduces Ethernet OAM software for its MD1230B Data Quality Analyzer that provides communications carriers and transmission equipment makers with a test solution that can accurately evaluate Ethernet OAM equipment and networks in accordance with ITU-T Recommendation Y.1731 and IEEE801.1ag. Incorporating a number of Quality of Service (QoS) tests, the new option further strengthens the MD1230B analyzer’s support of Next Generation Networks (NGNs) and is part of Anritsu’s commitment to developing test solutions to help in the development, deployment, and operation of NGNs.
The Ethernet OAM software supports load generation and protocol analysis of 10M to 10G Ethernet networks, and can also generate and detect error conditions. Additionally, the software has built-in capture and decode functions to accurately analyze responses of OAM commands to signals on the network.
In a real network application, the Ethernet OAM software can monitor the various alarms occurring on actual networks carrying mixed data. It can also monitor parameters such as the arrival timing of fault management signals sent periodically from transmission equipment and packet jitter.
