LONDON -- Geo has won a contract with Gyron Internet, a major UK provider of specialist data centre services, to provide fibre optical connectivity into its new Centro data centre facility. The deal, worth up to £1.5 million, enables Gyron to manage its own network, and access unrestricted bandwidth from its investment in Geo’s advanced fibre optic infrastructure.

Gyron selected Geo to provide a dedicated fibre link to its data centre in Hemel Hempstead as rising customer demand for cost-effective rack space led it to expand into new facilities. Robin Balen, Managing Director of Gyron, said: “Our customers trust us to host critical parts of their businesses, so our facilities need to be available and reliable, and our network must be fast enough to keep their operations running at top speed.”

“We also recognised that now was the time to locate outside London. Not only is power and land more freely available outside the M25, but it’s also an important consideration for many of our customers who require a secondary back-up site located away from their primary data centre.”
