ATLANTA -- ZivVa Holdings, LLC, a leading provider of hosted voice over internet (VoIP) applications, today announced the acquisition of Vocalocity Inc., a leading provider of OEM software for standards-based telephony solutions. The combined companies, operating under the name Vocalocity, will provide enterprise customers and OEM partners two powerful VoIP platforms -- an on- demand service based platform and an OEM driven VoIP platform centered on standards based tools for deployment. ZivVa is a leader in hosted VoIP applications for enterprises, such as its hosted PBX, while Vocalocity's technology accelerates the migration to open telephony platforms by minimizing the development and integration of VoiceXML, CCXML, SIP and other evolving standards."Whether it's through organic growth or acquisition we're constantly looking to strengthen our VoIP platform," says Boris Jerkunica, co-founder and Chairman of ZivVa. "By using our hosted VoIP services as a base to go out and to find adjacent technologies we've been able to significantly broaden our platform. Our combined technologies will allow us to market two distinct and complementary VoIP offerings; a new standards based OEM VoIP platform and an application service VoIP platform".As a result of the acquisition enterprise customers will be able to easily build automated voice response applications using standards-based creation and integration tools, such as the Vocalocity App Center and run on-demand VoIP applications, like the office PBX, from a hosted services platform."Our commitment to the standards based OEM business now becomes part of a broader picture," says Mike Dickerson, former chief executive officer of Vocalocity. "ZivVa's commitment to further develop our core OEM customer base creates an incredibly powerful opportunity. Having direct access to ZivVa's on-demand application platform will allow our engineering team to more rapidly incorporate end-user feedback into our products and to augment our structured QA process with real world traffic. Our OEM customers will benefit from faster development of user-tested products that simplify the creation and deployment of voice services."Management of the new entity will be provided by the existing ZivVa senior management team with the engineering staff and sales resource moving over to join the new company. Members of the existing Vocalocity executive team will continue to work closely with the acquiring company following the transaction and given the strong value and leadership position of the Vocalocity brand the combined companies will operate under the name Vocalocity.
