LONDON, and MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. -- LignUp Corporation, a provider of Web services-based converged communications solutions, today announced the launch of its London-based subsidiary, LignUp EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa). LignUp EMEA will deliver the LignUp Communications Platform to organizations building on-site and off-site hosted telephony communications.

"Given the market opportunity for specialized service providers and the ongoing drive in the enterprise to reduce telecommunications costs and raise productivity, we are excited about the prospect of expanding our channels and meeting the needs of these marketplaces," said Hector Saldana, founder, chairman and CEO of LignUp Corporation. "By working with distribution partners such as Hutton Communications and SkyWave partners Net One Systems, NEC System Integration & Construction and NTT-ME, LignUp has been able to quickly build a strong sales channel and win over 110 customer successes. We look forward to replicating this track record of success in Europe and beyond."

The LignUp solution includes the LignUp Communications Platform (LignUp Call Director, LignUp Media Server, and LignUp SDK), and hosted IP-PBX, IP-Centrex, voice mail, unified messaging, auto attendant and other applications built on the LignUp platform. Powered by VoiceXML, LignUp Media Control XML (MCTRL) and LignUp Call Control XML (CCTRL), the LignUp Communications Platform enables enterprises to cost-effectively voice-accelerate business processes with VoIP and VoIP-enabled legacy applications. The LignUp platform allows existing and emerging service providers to quickly create unique, high-margin voice over broadband services for business, residential and vertical market customers.

Additionally, LignUp announced that leading telecommunications solution providers, Zycko and Atos Origin will become LignUp reseller and system integration partners for the European market. Industry veteran Richard Kirk will lead LignUp EMEA as Vice President of Sales and Operations, managing the expansion of LignUp's regional sales force and channel development.

"When making the decision to join LignUp, I was impressed with the company's experienced team, channel successes in Japan and the US and the proven innovative LignUp platform," said Richard Kirk, vice president of sales and operations for LignUp EMEA. "I look forward to helping accelerate our success and building on what is already a very solid foundation at LignUp."
