Mobile in Latin America: A New Phase

Like so many other regions around the world, Latin America is about to experience a rapid uptake of mobile broadband services and see the introduction of M2M connectivity, according to research findings shared by the GSM Association (GSMA) .

As the infographic suggests, a number of key metrics, from smartphone penetration to carrier investments, are set to experience growth between now and 2017.

But as the GSMA also points out in a recent statement, the region could benefit further from the mobile revolution if the regulatory environment was less stifling. (See: GSMA Reports on Mobile Impact on Latin America.)
