Report: NSN In Stake Talks

5:15 AM -- Nokia Networks is in preliminary talks to sell a minority stake to private equity investors for around $1 billion, according to The Wall Street Journal.

The report suggests that firms such as Bain Capital , Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. (KKR) , Silver Lake Partners , The Blackstone Group , and TPG Ventures are in talks about buying a one-third stake in the vendor. Currently, Nokia Corp. (NYSE: NOK) and Siemens AG (NYSE: SI; Frankfurt: SIE) each own a 50 percent stake.

NSN, which has just revised its outlook for 2010 and announced its second-quarter results, is set to buy Motorola Inc. (NYSE: MOT)'s wireless infrastructure business for $1.2 billion, so it could do with a cash injection.
