ATLANTA -- Cbeyond, Inc. (NASDAQ: CBEY), a provider of communications and IT solutions to more than 48,000 small businesses across the country, today announced the addition of Virtual Receptionist to its suite of productivity-enhancing applications. Virtual Receptionist professionally answers calls, intelligently routes important customer inquiries and enables ongoing connectivity while elevating a small businesses’ brand. The service is hosted in the Cbeyond cloud, enabling a small business to easily subscribe to the service and quickly get it up and running while eliminating any worry about platform investment, availability, security, and reliability.

The Virtual Receptionist solution built from the ground up, features a text-to-speech interface and is easy to install including several customizable features designed to make the small businesses’ day-to-day operations more productive. The system routes incoming phone calls to the person or department the caller needs to reach or provides them with pre-recorded information, based on a schedule and routing that is controlled by the small business. Dial-by-name company directory, driving directions, hours of operation, voicemail integration and unlimited scheduling options are some of the many features that help automate and simplify a small business’ operations. These features, typically available to larger companies, are now available to small businesses to help improve employee productivity and scale their customer and prospect facing personnel.

“Our primary goal is to provide easy-to-use solutions that enhance our small business customers’ productivity and that’s exactly what we’ve delivered with Virtual Receptionist,” said Jon Harmer, Cbeyond’s Senior Product Manager for Messaging and Collaboration. “Small business owners are busy, wearing many hats. Virtual Receptionist enables the owner to focus on their business while knowing all calls coming in are handled appropriately. By hosting the service in the cloud, the implementation and use of the solution is without worry because it’s off-premise, more reliable and extremely easy to manage.”
