LONDON -- ARCADIS (EURONEXT: ARCAD), the international design, consulting, engineering and management services company, announced today that its subsidiary ARCADIS AQUMEN FACILITY MANAGEMENT (AAFM) has signed a three-year framework contract to provide services to BT (former British Telecom) in the Benelux. AAFM is a joint venture of ARCADIS and U.K. based Carillion. The contract provides a good platform for the further internationalization of the activities of AAFM, while at the same time it strengthens the firms’ position in the Benelux market.

Under the contract AAFM will provide an integral package of facility management services for all the office locations of BT in the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxemburg. Upon a successful implementation in the Benelux, this contract will also open an opportunity to broaden the scope to other BT entities in Europe. To do so, AAFM and BT will closely align their strategies for real estate management services, with consistency and transparency as main starting points for the cooperation.

“We see a growing demand from international corporations looking for pan-European solutions for management of their facilities. This allows AAFM to introduce economies of scale to create more cost savings for its clients while at the same time focusing on the quality of the services provided,” said Bernt Bouwmeester, director of AAFM. “This contract will certainly contribute to the growth of our business in 2010.”
