LONDON and NAARDEN, The Netherlands -- Global Crossing (NASDAQ: GLBC) today announced the addition of three industry veterans to its successful global enterprise and collaboration services team in Europe, which was responsible for securing multimillion dollar contracts with notable customers as the British Council and the Forestry Commission during 2005. These new sales professionals will lend an additional layer of strength and support to new business development efforts, as well as the expansion of current customer relationships.

Wilfried Roettgers and Niall Anderson have taken on sales leadership roles as regional vice presidents for continental Europe and the United Kingdom, respectively. Tony Judd brings additional expertise to the UK team as a new area vice president. All three are proven leaders and bring distinguished backgrounds in telecommunications and sales to Global Crossing's enterprise and collaboration services businesses.

"Our UK and European team are strong, and the addition of three high-level sales and business development professionals will serve to expand our customer base and build on existing customer relationships," said John Legere, Global Crossing's chief executive officer. "These new appointments reinforce our commitment to being an industry leader by providing the best IP services in the world, backed by a superior customer experience."

Under the leadership of newly appointed senior vice president Michael Toplisek, Mr. Anderson and Mr. Roettgers will focus on driving customer acquisition to the next level in Europe as a whole and strengthening Global Crossing's significant presence in the UK government, rail transportation and corporate sectors through the provision of highly secure, converged IP services. Under the Managed Telecommunications Services framework agreement alone, Global Crossing supports 90 central government departments and more than 120,000 civil servants in the UK.

"Niall, Wilfried and Tony join a driven and accomplished group of professionals focused on important markets for Global Crossing," continued Mr. Legere. "I expect them to thrive in their new roles."

Mr. Anderson, who joins Global Crossing as regional vice president for UK enterprise sales, will focus his efforts on developing Global Crossing UK's presence in this extremely competitive region, building on the successful government and rail sectors and expanding the new business market.

Mr. Anderson brings to Global Crossing more than 15 years' experience in the telecommunications and IT industries, including successful sales positions at Equant, Sun Microsystems and Axinter Communications & Integration, which later became Comparex Networks. His most recent role was as Equant's head of sales for the UK and Ireland. Mr. Anderson will be based in London.

Mr. Anderson's management team will include a new area vice president who also boasts excellent industry credentials. Tony Judd, who was the head of sales operations and services at Cable & Wireless, will lead new business development with a primary focus on multinational corporations.

Mr. Judd is a telecom industry veteran who most recently served in several senior roles with Cable & Wireless. His background includes positions of increasing responsibility at Lloyds/TSB and BT. In his new position with Global Crossing, Mr. Judd will be based in London.

As the new regional vice president for continental Europe, Mr. Roettgers will develop Global Crossing's direct enterprise sales channel in the region, executing the company's long-term strategy to serve multinational enterprises with converged IP services over a global network infrastructure. He brings more than 15 years' experience in the telecommunications industry to the company, including his most recent successes as vice president for national markets in northern Europe for MCI.

Mr. Roettgers has previously held the positions of general manager at NBA Services GmbH; chief operating officer at Portum Consulting; general manager at Cignal-Global Communications Germany GmbH/Priority Telecom GmbH; and sales director and general manager covering Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Eastern Europe for Equant. He will be based in Naarden, The Netherlands.
