Cisco Cuts Loose
You see, while it's true that the company is pushing TelePresence hard, it's also true that in past years, not everyone at Cisco got to telecommute, according to some employees I've met. It was bad for "synergy," or it caused warts, or something.
As you can tell by the videos, that policy wasn't companywide. Cisco was letting individual managers have their say on telecommuting. It's just that some said "No."
One would hope those days are dead. Maybe Cisco's own employees will finally be free to start using this Human Network they keep seeing advertised on TV.
