Comcast Joins the Blog Roll
12:35 PM --
Comcast Corp. (Nasdaq: CMCSA, CMCSK) -- following in the footsteps of Insight Communications Co. Inc.
chief Michael Willner, Motorola Inc. (NYSE: MOT), Cisco Systems Inc. (Nasdaq: CSCO), and the National Cable & Telecommunications Association (NCTA) -- is the latest cable biggie to try this blogging thing on for size, with the rather quiet launch of what it's calling Comcast Voices.
Comcast, which has been doing the Twitter thing for about 18 months as a customer care function, has tapped Scott McNulty as "Chief Blogger," but other execs will be chipping in (and some already have) to give the über-MSO more of a direct connection with customers…and maybe even throw a bone to us ink-stained (byte-stained?) wretches once in a while. Comcast Voices is just getting off the ground, but we'll put it in our reader to keep tabs. In the meantime, here's a sampling of what's up there now:

- A DVR trick that allows users to jump ahead or back by five minutes. And, no, the post doesn't mention a code that enables a 30-second skip button. (See Skip, Skip, Skip to My Lou .)
- An explanation about how the MSO responded to news that a document on Scribd.com contained about 700 valid Comcast customer user IDs.
