Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) 's said it's developing a stereoscopic 3D standard "to ensure that the cable industry is prepared to act on the widespread deployment of 3D." (See Cable Engineers Push Standard for 3DTV Signals.)

Sony Corp. (NYSE: SNE) may be five to seven years away from developing an autostereoscopic -- or glasses-free -- 3DTV. (See CTAM Summit: 3DTV Is Poised to Pop.)

Hulu LLC may delay free access to new TV episodes for up to seven days after they air so it can strike online video distribution deals with cable and satellite providers.

Dish Network LLC (Nasdaq: DISH) is adding shows from Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, and truTV to its dishonline.com TV Everywhere site. (See Dish: TV Everywhere Site Is Portal to Growth .)

BigBand Networks Inc. (Nasdaq: BBND) says its switched digital video (SDV) technology is deployed to more than 39 million homes passed thanks to rollouts with major U.S. MSOs such as Time Warner Cable Inc. AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T) U-verse subs with its upgraded Total Home DVR can pause and rewind live TV on any digital set-top in their homes.

DirecTV Group Inc. (NYSE: DTV) plans several interactive TV features for its French Open tennis coverage, including an HD Mix channel that will offer live feeds from six courts and live scores.
