BALTIMORE -- Semrock, an optical components company focused on enhancing optical engines, today announced the availability of its new line of high-performance erbium-doped fibers. This product line gives optical amplifier suppliers the ability to decrease development time and increase manufacturing efficiency. Semrock's fiber portfolio consists of both C-Band and L-Band fiber, which are available in 125-micron and 80-micron cladding diameters. Complete Giles-parameter characterization data is provided with every batch. Semrock's erbium-doped fiber is made exclusively using its patent-pending High Uniformity Method(TM), which enables Semrock to introduce the highest levels of alumina while still achieving volume manufacturability. Semrock enhances and supports its erbium-doped fiber products with the intelligence of LightTamer(TM) optical amplifier design software and highly accurate gain-flattening filters. LightTamer(TM) is a powerful, yet easy to use, software tool that significantly reduces development time. Semrock's proprietary Arbitrary Spectral Profile (ASP(TM)) technology allows highly versatile multi-layered thin-film coatings to meet the challenges of the most demanding gain-flattened optical amplifiers. "Semrock's erbium-doped fiber includes industry leading levels of alumina for the best performance while exhibiting excellent spatial uniformity and batch-to-batch reproducibility," says Dr. Victor Mizrahi, President and Chief Executive Officer for Semrock. "From the beginning we have paid attention to real-world manufacturing issues." Semrock Inc.
