WASHINGTON -- The Optoelectronics Industry Development Association (OIDA) announced today that industry veteran David Huff has joined the organization as Vice President of Business Development and Marketing. He will focus on recruiting members in emerging optoelectronic application areas, engaging current members to identify new services OIDA can provide, and promoting OIDA to the optoelectronics community.

"David joins us with over fifteen years of experience of marketing in a number of high technology areas spanning optical and electronics spaces," said Dr. Michael Lebby, President and CEO. "He will fill a key strategic role in ensuring that we continue to provide world-class services to our growing list of members and partners. His broad background will be invaluable as OIDA expands into new markets and technical areas, such as defense, sensors, lighting, and optical integrated circuits."

Prior to joining OIDA, Huff was the Vice President of Marketing and Business Development at T-Networks, Inc., a leading supplier of 10 Gb/s ElectroAbsorbtion modulator based transmitters. Previously, he served as Vice President of Marketing at Multilink Technology Corporation, a supplier of integrated circuits for fiber-optic transmission systems. Before joining Multilink, Huff was with Ortel Corporation, a leading developer of optoelectronic components for government applications, cable TV, and RF communications. He came to Ortel from the Space and Communications Division of Hughes Aircraft Company.
