Kotura agrees Japanese distribution deal with Nissho Electronics

MONTEREY PARK, Calif. -- Silicon photonics innovator Kotura, Inc. and Nissho Electronics, a leading high-tech distributor in Japan, today announced a distribution agreement whereby Nissho will distribute Kotura's entire suite of integrated silicon photonic solutions including high-speed, single-channel Variable Optical Attenuators (VOAs), high-speed VOA arrays, and WDM multiplexers for 40 and 100 Gb/s data center applications.
Kotura's photonics chips are based on the company's micron scale manufacturing platform currently in mass production and deployed in live networks around the world since 2006. With three of the five largest telecommunication OEMs already using Kotura products in their 10, 40 and 100 Gb/s networks, the company is approaching a million channels per year currently in production.
