ECI Telecom selects Vitesse carrier Ethernet chipset for XDM and BroadGate platforms

CAMARILLO, Calif. -- Vitesse Semiconductor Corporation (Pink Sheets:VTSS - News) today announced that ECI Telecom Ltd., a global provider of networking infrastructure solutions and a leader in the optical communications market, has selected Vitesse’s Carrier Ethernet chipset to power its MPLS solution in the XDM® and BroadGate® lines of Multi-Service Provisioning Platforms, providing cost-effective Ethernet services from access to core.
Using Vitesse’s Carrier Ethernet transport solutions, ECI will enable telecom service providers to build end-to-end (E2E) assured Ethernet service delivery with advanced quality (QoS) for access aggregation, as well as edge and metro core network applications. The solutions made possible facilitate carrier-class metro Ethernet over SONET/SDH networks, supporting any Ethernet-based applications and services, including business, triple-play, Ethernet-based 3G mobile aggregation, and Ethernet leased line services — all with carrier-grade quality.
