DUBLIN -- Eblana Photonics Ltd. (Dublin, Ireland) has announced that it has extended its laser product offerings to incorporate lasers for use in IEEE 802.3ae 10G Ethernet, 10GBASE-LR/LRM/LW and 10.0G Fibre Channel applications. This latest product series extends and complements Eblana's existing family of isolator-free laser products that operate uncooled over the industrial temperature range of ‑40 °C to +85°C and which target high volume applications such as GPON.
"The 10.0Gbit/s EP1310-FP and EP1310-DM lasers reflect our continuing commitment to drive unnecessary and unproductive cost out of optical module manufacture by providing easy‑to‑use, cost effective products for the most challenging applications" said James O'Gorman, Eblana's CEO. He added; "We rely on our in-house laser design team and our proprietary technologies to engineer great products and we outsource our manufacturing to achieve the lowest cost profile in the market for these products".
"Feedback from initial users of the EP1310-FP and EP1310-DM products has been extremely positive" said Daniel Tine, Eblana's Head of North American Sales and Business Development. "This product family extends our practice of autonomous product implementation into the 10.0G application space to enable our customers to realize the true value of their commitment in this increasingly challenging market".
