Broadcom's Ethernet Club Revealed (Sort of)
Ever hear the statement that 'everybody' is using merchant Ethernet chips? Here's a partial list of 'everybody'
Broadcom Corp. (Nasdaq: BRCM) still can't divulge most of its Ethernet-chip customers, and most of its customers won't admit they use Broadcom.
Yet at Interop this week, there were these big ol' racks with a bunch of different vendors' equipment in them. A bunch of systems names, just hanging out with Broadcom for no reason.
In case it's not obvious enough: These almost certainly represented OEMs that are using Broadcom, collected in one not-so-hidden place. Broadcom couldn't officially comment, of course.
Here's who was there. Any surprises?
