AMSTERDAM -- Rovi Corporation (Nasdaq:ROVI) today announced that it is working with Broadcom to integrate its recently unveiled DivX Plus Streaming technology into Broadcom's System-on-a Chip (SoC) platforms for set-top boxes and connected Digital TVs. Broadcom Corporation (Nasdaq:BRCM) is a global innovation leader in semiconductor solutions for wired and wireless communications. Lightweight and easy to deploy, DivX Plus Streaming offers support for 1080p video resolution, subtitles, as well as a range of smooth trick-play capabilities that have historically only been associated with Blu-ray Discs. Rovi will be demonstrating DivX Plus Streaming ported to a Broadcom platform at the Rovi booth at IBC 2011 in Hall 5, Stand A31.
"We are pleased to build on our successful collaboration with Rovi," said Aidan O'Rourke, senior director of marketing, IP Set-Top Box, Broadcom. "DivX Plus Streaming complements our advanced Set-Top and Connected TV technologies, delivering a compelling, high-quality 1080p entertainment experience to subscribers."
