LAS VEGAS -- Solsoft (www.solsoft.com), a leading provider of network security policy management software and a Cisco(R) Technology Developer Program member, today announced the addition of the Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA) 5500 Series to the range of Cisco security solutions supported by Solsoft Policy Server.

In its next Technology Pack (device driver set) for Cisco, which is scheduled to be available in July 2005, Solsoft will add support for certain Cisco ASA 5500 Series services including: intrusion prevention, firewall, IPSec virtual private network (VPN), and user-installable Security Services Modules (SSM) that help enhance performance and security service extensibility. The updated Solsoft solution provides customers with centralized management that helps information technology (IT) security and operations teams automatically create and report on network security policies. The new system runs the gamut of Cisco security solutions including: Cisco ASA 5500 Series; Cisco IOS-based and Catalyst switch-based security solutions; Cisco PIX; and Cisco VPN 3000 Concentrator product families. The Cisco ASA 5500 Series - a family of multi-function security appliances designed to span from small and medium sized businesses to large enterprises - controls network and application traffic, delivers flexible VPN connectivity and reduces the overall deployment, operations costs and complexity that would otherwise be associated with this level of comprehensive security.

Enterprise, service provider, and government customers use the Solsoft Policy Server centralized management features to design, deploy and document security policies across mid-size and large-scale networks. With Solsoft Policy Server, IT administrators can help assure the integrity of critical applications and services by applying consistent, enforceable and auditable network security configurations on any number of Cisco solutions.

"Security policy management is critical to building a self-defending network," said Domenick Lionetti, Solsoft's vice president of business development. "Supporting Cisco's new multi-function ASA 5500 Series demonstrates Solsoft's ability to stay in lockstep with our partners and in tune with the needs of our customers, both large and small."
