That makes sense. And I believe he understated the added complexity and knowledge it takes to "simplify" the components for the development of virtualization. But just as with other technology development, that is where the breakthroughs come.
This design seems to be a way to provide the desired security in an economically sound way. Putting those pieces together should be a breakthrough in furthering virtualization.
