STAVANGER, Norway, and BELFAST, UK -- Latens, a leader in the delivery of software Conditional Access and Middleware for digital Pay TV, today announced that Altibox has successfully launched Remote DVR services using Latens ECO. The Remote DVR service allows Altibox customers to schedule and manage recordings on their home DVR from virtually anywhere.
This new service enables customers to easily view and search Altibox program listings from the full program guide, schedule programs, view descriptions of selected programs, and manage or edit scheduled recordings, all from any web enabled device wherever they are.
Over 180,000 customers are now connected to the Altibox service through their local energy company and telecom service provider.
“This is a great example of how Altibox is continually bringing our customers increasingly better services. Now with Altibox Remote DVR our customers can get new features and capabilities,” said Jarle Johnsen, Head of Engineering TV & Media, Altibox. “We have worked very closely with Latens to develop and deploy this remote DVR capability using ECO middleware with great results.”
