MILPITAS, Calif. -- Shenick Network Systems today announced that it has become the first test and measurement integration partner in CloudNFV.
Shenick has already successfully integrated TeraVM in to the OpenStack/KVM based CloudNFV environment. The next phase is to define appropriate integration points with the other CloudNFV partners to showcase the overall viability and power of Network Functions Virtualization (NFV). With this integration, TeraVM will become part of the various proof of concept (PoC) demonstrations that CloudNFV will embark on in 2014. The ultimate goal is for TeraVM to form the basis of a CloudNFV “Test Data as a Service (TDaaS)” offering.
“One of the most important issues that any next-gen network architecture must address is how existing testing and monitoring practices will be supported under the new network model,” said Tom Nolle, president of CIMI Corporation and Chief Architect for CloudNFV. “Shenick has worked with CloudNFV members to create a model for test data as a service that’s suitable for the new age of virtual network resources and virtual services. That’s a first in the industry, and we’re excited to work with Shenick in implementing and expanding that model to meet ALL operator needs in test data generation.”
