KOMAKI, Japan -- Santec, a leading manufacturer of fiber-optic components, sub-systems and optical instruments is pleased to announce a new, high power tunable laser, the TSL-210H. The laser utilizes the latest advances in semiconductor laser and optical coating technology and emits over 40mW of optical power over its entire 1520-1580nm tuning range. This is the highest power laser of its type on the market, and eliminates the need for subsequent amplification in many applications. It also has the advantage of lower noise and significantly low cost. The laser maintains all the features of Santec's current TSL-210 design, with ease of use and excellent long-term power and wavelength stabilities. A fine-tuning function, variable coherence control and RS232C and GPIB interfaces are provided as standard. The laser is suitable for a wide range of fiber optic applications particularly DWDM system and EDFA testing.
