ATLANTA -- WaveSmith Networks, an emerging company focused on redefining multiservice switching for carriers, today announced the availability of the Distributed Node(TM) (DN) 7100 multiservice edge switch platform. This latest addition to the DN product family offers customers the most comprehensive multiservice edge switch offering on the market.WaveSmith's DN product family is the first scaleable multiservice switching platform that combines ATM, Frame Relay, Time-Division Muliplexing/Circuit Emulation services (TDM/CES), and IP/MPLS services. The DN 2100(TM) and DN 4100(TM) are primarily targeted towards the remote edge and medium density edge applications respectively. The DN 7100 is geared towards Central Office (CO) switching.
