MAIDENHEAD, U.K. -- U.S. Robotics today introduced its eagerly anticipated 802.11g Wireless Gateway to its SureConnect(tm) ADSL product range. Ideal for easily networking multiple users in any home or small office, U.S. Robotics' 802.11g Wireless Gateway is a four-in-one 4-port Ethernet ADSL router that includes an 802.11g 54 Mbps wireless access point, an ADSL modem with speeds up to 12 Mbps and a powerful firewall.

U.S. Robotics 802.11g Wireless Gateway gives home and small business users high-powered 'g' standard wireless performance and fast Internet access in one value-added, easily-to-install product with the high level of security and firewall protection users can expect from all of U.S. Robotics ADSL products. It has never been easier for users to take advantage of high-speed Internet access, file sharing, online gaming, video streaming and music downloads.

"We're delighted to be able to satisfy demand from ADSL users who are looking to upgrade from the simple bridge they get from their service provider to a more powerful and integrated solution," said Peter Blampied, Director of Sales and Operations at U.S. Robotics. "The new wireless gateway offers fast, trouble-free installation and easy expansion. Fully featured to meet the demands of any small business, the device is also an excellent choice for home users due to the built-in support for popular gaming consoles such as PlayStation2 and Xbox."

Key capabilities include:

  • Easy setup with AutoSynch technology and installation wizard.

  • An internal HTML/Java based provisioning and utility software that provides easy-to-use diagnostics with basic and advanced modes to satisfy technicians and end users.

  • An easy-to-configure, professional firewall that provides Stateful Packet Inspection, Parental Filtering and VPN support, to meet the security requirements of the most security-conscious of customers.

  • A SecureStack modular case design that stacks with other U.S. Robotics networking and broadband equipment for easy network expansion while minimizing desktop clutter.

  • U.S. Robotics exclusive SureConnect software as standard.

The new ADSL router (Model USR9106) is available this month via on-line retailers and PC World stores for a RRP of £129.99 inc. VAT.
