TEMPE, Ariz. -- Emerson Network Power, a business of Emerson (NYSE:EMR) and the global leader in enabling Business-Critical Continuity™, today announced that its ATCA-7150 x86 server blade has completed interoperability testing in EMC Corporation’s (NYSE: EMC) prestigious E-Lab™. The blade is featured in Emerson Network Power’s CentellisTM 4100, the first AdvancedTCA® (ATCA®) system to become a qualified configuration for use with the EMC® CLARiiON® CX3 and AX4 series of networked storage systems and software. As a result of this qualification, Emerson Network Power will be listed in the July update of EMC’s support matrix.
The EMC E-Lab conducts the industry's most rigorous interoperability testing, spanning every major platform and operating system. In the process, EMC E-Lab creates a deep pool of knowledge about complete environments as well as about every individual component a company might use.
EMC’s testing of the ATCA-7150 blade marks the first time a traditional ATCA blade, which is typically supplied to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), has been qualified. The qualification enables AdvancedTCA adopters requiring scalable storage solutions to reduce risk, improve time to market and reduce the total cost of ownership by leveraging the benefits of pre-validated configurations with the additional benefit of joint support from EMC and Emerson Network Power. Qualified networked storage configurations include those with the high performance of fiber channel connectivity for higher bandwidth applications, such as databases and media storage for IPTV systems.
"Customers in the global telecommunications market require the highest levels of reliability, availability, security and performance as they deploy more advanced information infrastructures to support a wide range of new applications," said Paul Brown, EMC vice president, integration and interoperability. "EMC's leading CLARiiON networked storage systems and software have been a mainstay in network data centers. The EMC E-Lab conducts the most rigorous interoperability testing in the industry and qualification of the Emerson Network Power ATCA-7150 server blade will help enable our mutual customers to deploy the next generation of solutions with confidence."
