1:45 PM -- Ronnie Barker, one of Red Panda's favorite limey comedians, died yesterday.

The folks at the BBC have seen fit to compile a list of Barkerisms. A selection of our favorites:

• "The man who invented the zip fastener was today honoured with a lifetime peerage. He will now be known as the Lord of the Flies."
• "The toilets at a local police station have been stolen. Police say they have nothing to go on."
• "Should all married couples be frank and earnest? Or should one of them be a woman?"

Barker truly epitomized the kind of old-school comedian that can be funny without having to resort to profanity.
