MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. -- Redfern Polymer Optics, a world-leading developer and manufacturer of polymer planar and fiber components and polymer optical fibers, today announced its formal launch. The company has raised US$3.8 million in seed funding, mainly from Redfern Photonics. Since its incorporation last October, the company has focused on new product developments. The initial trials for the first two products are on target for late 2001 and the company will shortly announce at ECOC 2001, in Amsterdam, an exciting polymer optical fiber development.
