HILLSBORO, Ore. -- Radisys® Corporation (NASDAQ: RSYS), a market leader enabling wireless infrastructure solutions, is partnering with Mavenir Systems, a leading provider of software-based networking solutions, on Voice over LTE (VoLTE) deployments based on Mavenir’s mOne® Convergence Platform integrated with Radisys’ Software Media Resource Function (MRF). These can both also be deployed in virtualized cloud environments, providing scalability as operators grow their VoLTE subscriber base. Radisys and Mavenir have secured a growing list of VoLTE wins in both the U.S. and Europe, and are actively engaged in multiple trials in both regions. Leading operators are expected to go live with the joint VoLTE solution in the second half of 2013.“The integration of our mOne® Convergence Platform with Radisys’ MRF has provided the economic and functional differentiation for growing commercial success for our VoLTE and mobile service deployments, including the world’s first VoLTE deployment at MetroPCS,” said Ian Maclean, vice president, Strategy and Marketing, Mavenir Systems.Operators that have rolled out LTE networks are turning to VoLTE and Rich Communications Services (RCS) delivering High Definition (HD) voice, Video Ringback Tones (VRBT), Interactive Voice and Video Response (IVVR), Conferencing and other value-added services to win back revenue from over-the-top (OTT) and content providers that have been the early beneficiaries of LTE’s increased bandwidth and access speeds. Next-generation IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) architectures, with an MRF processing real-time audio and video media streams, are the underlying foundation supporting these services. “While 2012 was the year of LTE, 2013 is shaping up to be the year of VoLTE service rollouts,” said Phil Kendall, Director of Strategy Analytics’ Wireless Operator Strategies program. “South Korea, Japan and the USA will lead the way with VoLTE, though will be joined by a wave of mobile operators globally over the next 24 months as they look to secure and evolve their communications businesses for the next decade. We predict 1.6B LTE connections by end of 2017, and VoLTE and other mobile video services are essential for growing revenues beyond LTE data plans. Standards-based IMS service delivery platforms, such as Mavenir’s mOne® Convergence Platform and Radisys’ MRF, deliver compelling video and voice services that maximize revenue options for operators.”RadiSys Corp.Mavenir Systems Inc.
