JESSUP, Md. -- Optoelectronics equipment developer Quantum Photonics (QPI) announced two appointments today with Dennis Bowler joining the company as Vice President of Engineering and Glenn Wellbrock joining its Strategic Advisory Board. "With our photonic active products currently being sampled with telecom and datacom customers, we have hired Dennis Bowler to ensure that QPI's design, development and manufacturing processes exceed customer requirements," said Dan Petrescu. "We're also eager to benefit from the tremendous fiber optics experience of Glenn Wellbrock, the newest member of our Strategic Advisory Board." As VP of Engineering, Mr. Bowler brings more than 20 years of experience in semiconductor and optical communication technology to QPI. Most recently, Mr. Bowler served as Vice President of Engineering at nLight Photonics Corp. in Seattle, WA. Prior employers include Corning Lasertron Incorporated and TRW Space & Technology Group. Mr. Bowler earned his Ph.D. in electrical engineering from UCLA, his MS degree in electrical engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology, and his BS degree from Tufts University. Mr. Wellbrock is the Vice President of Ondata OXC Product Engineering for North America at Marconi, where he is responsible for market requirements and product introductions. Before joining Marconi, Mr. Wellbrock was the Vice President of Product Planning, focused on developing alternative modulation techniques at Qplus Networks. He also has 17 years of experience at MCI WorldCom, where he was responsible for identifying and evaluating next-generation optical technologies to be used in their global network.
