Qeyton Systems, a leader in cost-effective metro DWDM (Dense Wave Division Multiplexing) solutions, has named Claes Rickeby Chief Executive Officer of the company. Rickeby will play a leading role in expanding Qeyton's reach in the metro DWDM space. This includes continuing to develop the QS200 - a highly scalable OADM (Optical Add/Drop Mux) that can handle any metro network, traffic mix, traffic pattern and protection requirement, ensuring that the existing fiber base is fully utilized.

Having played executive roles in sales, marketing and system design, Claes Rickeby compliments Qeyton's seasoned management team with his extensive background in switching, datacommunications, cellular telephony, computing and SDH transmission. "I'm thrilled to join the Qeyton team, as I'm confident our channel-by-channel scalability and fiber-saving, cost-effective metro DWDM solution addresses the changing needs of metropolitan networks in an optimal fashion," said Claes Rickeby, CEO, Qeyton Systems. Claes Rickeby dedicated more than 25 years to Ericsson, holding a wide variety of positions in the fields of marketing and sales as well as design management. He was the head negotiator for numerous AXE, Ericsson's telecom switch system, contracts and worked with a team to bring AXE to the UK and French market, the latter as Technical Director at the French subsidiary in Paris. As a Director in the Corporate Business Development division, Rickeby chaired the Ericsson Datacom Study that set the strategy for their inroads into datacom. As Director of Marketing and Sales for Ericsson's Transport Network Systems, Rickeby lead developments in SDH multiplexors and cross connects, and brought WDM developments to market.

In Rickeby's most recent position as Senior Executive Advisor, he developed a strategy for Ericsson's Internet over Cable activities. As a member of the advisory team for the Transmission Product Units, Rickeby also chaired the development of early products in the DWDM area. Rickeby holds an MSc degree from the School of Aeronautics at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden. He has published articles for a number of technical magazines and trade publications, and has spoken at a number of international technical and investor conferences and seminars.
