Puppy Pounding

3:05 PM -- BBC News reports on Christopher Munns, a young man who is being tried for beating a dog to death and then proceeding to throw its body at his grandmother:
Michael Taylor, prosecuting for the RSPCA, said Munns had been staying with his grandparents in Brandon, Suffolk, when the attack took place.

His grandmother, Charlotte James, and his grandfather returned home to find the terrier dead on the floor.

Munns told Mrs James the dog bit his finger so he hit her on the head, the court heard.

Mrs James said in a statement she had told Munns he was not welcome in the house at which point he picked up the dog's body and threw it at her.

Red Panda assumes grandma is grateful that she passed up the elephant in the pet store.

re: Puppy Pounding from Reuters:

BERLIN (Reuters) - A German woman found a frozen dead dog when she opened the refrigerator freezer compartment in her new apartment in the southwestern town of Trossingen, police said on Saturday.

The previous tenant later told police in the town near Stuttgart that his greyhound pup had died of natural causes several months earlier but he did not have time to give it a proper burial before moving out of the apartment.

Police said the man faces prosecution for violating the "Tierkoerperbeseitigungsgesetz" (animal cadaver removal law).
