Former Aeroflex exec will lead the commercialization new products

WOBURN, Mass. - November 4, 2002 - Polychromix®, a privately held, advanced optical networking technology company, today announced Brian Mitchell as president and CEO. Mitchell, a 21-year veteran of the RF/microwave, fiber-optic component and subsystems industries, will lead the commercialization of Polychromix’s Channel Management Solutions, which enable dynamically re-configurable optical networks. In related news, Dr. Stephen Senturia, co-founder, chairman and former president, now assumes the CTO role. Co-founder Dr. Michael Butler is now vice president of Research & Development.

Prior to joining Polychromix, Mr. Mitchell served Aeroflex Incorporated (NASDAQ: ARXX) as executive vice president and COO of the Microelectronic Solutions Group. In addition, Mr. Mitchell simultaneously held the president and COO titles for Aeroflex MIC Technology Corporation. He was an early member and key contributor to the growth of MIC Technology from its inception to its sale to Aeroflex in 1996.
