ANDOVER, Mass. and CAMBRIDGE, U.K. -- Polatis, Inc. the performance leader in all-optical switch technology today announced that it will be demonstrating its latest Series 6000 192x192 all-optical switch for the first time in Europe during the European Conference on Optical Communication (ECOC) from 17 to 19 September 2012 on stand 700 at the Amsterdam RAI.

The Series 6000 optical matrix switch was released to the market earlier this year and is a fully non-blocking, singlemode fibre all-optical matrix switch with up to 192x192 ports and a typical loss of less than 1dB. Following its successful launch, the Series 6000 is now being shipped to major customers within government, telecom and datacentre applications and the company is currently experiencing a healthy backlog of orders for this product.

“We are delighted to be demonstrating the Series 6000 at ECOC 2012,” said Gerald Wesel, CEO of Polatis, Inc. “Since its launch, we have had considerable demand for the Series 6000 from both current customers and new prospects, who appreciate the unique combination of high optical performance and reliability with a larger matrix size. The Series 6000 is now being deployed in the most challenging applications as the benchmark for all-optical switching.”
