Polatis appoints executive VP of engineering to lead the development of ultra-low-loss photonic switch modules

CAMBRIDGE, U.K. -- Polatis, the Cambridge (UK) based company developing all-optical photonic switch modules for telecommunications equipment manufacturers, announced the appointment of Nick Parsons as Executive Vice President of Engineering. Nick will lead the engineering and manufacturing teams, focussing on development and roll-out of Polatis’ ultra low-loss photonic switch modules.Nick Parsons joins Polatis with over 20 years experience in developing leading edge optical and electronic systems for the defence, aerospace and communications industries. Most recently he served as Vice President and Programme Director at Marconi Optical Components, with responsibility for the optical amplifier portfolio and next generation product strategy. Previously, Nick held senior roles within the Avionics Group of BAE SYSTEMS, latterly serving as Technical Director of the Tactical Products Division.
